A flexible brand developed for NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio. The Glenn Research Center is home to NASA research facilities as well as a visitor center that is open to the public. The identity of Glenn Research Center communicates both the experience of space as well as the progression of time and technology. Through layering and transparency, the graphic elements create a sense of space, while the typography and photography recall the awe-inspiring vastness that exists beyond our planet. The circles and lines that are essential to this flexible identity speak to the continuation of time into the present and into the future, with emphasis placed on the here and now. At once, the brand is exciting, scientific, dramatic, bold, and inspiring; it speaks to the Center’s reputation of excellence in research but is still approachable and appealing to visitors of all ages. Additionally, the identity can be used in conjunction with NASA’s existing logo, as the facility is a division of NASA. This rebranding was done as a student project and is in no way affiliated with NASA Glenn Research Center.
